The Meadow, The Rio Grande, and The Alamosa.

We love to ride through the platoro reservoir area and down the Alamosa river. We stopped by a rive nearby and we hiked to Whitman falls. Brian was hiking up to the top of the waterfall to see us down below. We couldn't believe how high he was and tried hiking after him. We loved the cool weather, intermittent rain and beautiful animal life near by. The pictures never do any of it justice, but maybe we can remember a little of what it was like there. We had pizza in Alamosa and we ad a picnic by the Rio Grande. We did get some laundry in at the Sunshine laundry in Alamosa and played some games at the cabin. It was a short visit, but the beauty and time together was wonderful. All the children were so well behaved an traveled so well through the many states of California, Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona.

Fun around the cabin

It was fun to be at the cabin. We enjoyed archery, walks to the river, a fire in the fire pit with making smores and hiking to the top of the mountain behind the cabin. We visited Grandma Jean and had a yummy meal ordered in of Tacos, Pizza with green chili on it and sopapillas. The kids loved the dog and hanging out and visiting. We were so happy to see her! We saw beautiful clouds and a great sunset on the way home. On Thursday Emmy and I hiked to the meadow We layed in the grass and smelled the trees that have the scent of vanilla on their bark. We made it in such good time and liked it, we hiked to the second meadow where we saw a wild turkey and there was blue green grass that I loved. Emmy and I saw a fawn so small and cute run away from us. We were surprised to hear my phone notify us that there was cell coverage at the top of the mountain. Even though there was no interent, we had great family time together. The kids helped with preparing and cleaning up meals and for the most part, they all got along very well together.

Clouds and Scenery on the Way

Utah to Colorado was beautiful. We took a route that was deferent from our usual trek to the cabin through Gunnison and Blue Mesa Reservoir. This time we passed through Moab and Durango and through Pagosa Springs

Fourth with the Family

WE celebrated the fourth of July early it Rah Rah and Papa and some extended family in their back yard on the fourth. We watched fireworks and ate some yummy dessert. It was the first year Spencer came out and watched. I guess the sound of the aerial fireworks didn't bother him this year and he wanted to be with all of us. Celia was sure cute sitting by the other cousins; Carson, Tate and Holly.
The Next day we traveled to Utah for the fourth and the Culdesac of Fire with more Davis' The sunset was great and the entertainment was even better. The little ones chased after parachutes, we heard and saw aerial fireworks( probably illegal) on all sides of us. Mason and Joseph got to light some off and of course there were poppers and sparklers. Lance and Dawn's neighbors made caramel popcorn and Spencer sure loved his spot which was a reclining camp chair. Spencer loved Utah so Much. He was emotional after we left. He really wanted to stay and had a great time. The games we great, and Taylor getting baptized was a wonderful thing. We enjoyed a luncheon after that had plenty of desserts and chips, hehe. Dawn and I went out to a great drink store and got wonderful slushies'. It was great to have girl time again with my "sister". Dawn introduced me to Murices where they sell tall jeans.I got a pair and love the length! I also got a lesson on snap chatting, it was fun.
