Mommy/Son Time

Spencer had the day off so his teacher's could have in service. I noticed how happy going through old pictures of him at the beach made him. So, we went we dropped everyone else off at school and headed for Stinson Beach.  We saw the space shuttle pass right by us as we crossed the Richmond Bridge. It was pretty impressive and its' escort looked like a  plane you'd see in the movie "Top Gun".  I wasn't sure what it was at first. I was really glad to see it though. We enjoyed the ride down except for waiting in line at Chevron to pay for the three character belly washers and  cookies Spencer picked out and a few winding roads right before our arrival.

We lay ed out the blanket, took in the sun and relaxed in the wonderful ocean air. Spencer started snuggling up and getting smooches. He was happy to have an open area that was full of sensory fun. We played in the sand, tried to climb the life guard tower, which was labeled keep pout and had a run in with quite a few seagulls. One flew into Spence and he just laughed and chased them around. I love seeing Spence run on the beach and it was great exercise!  Spencer ended up going into the water to his waist. He loved to feel the wave crash against him.  Wemade it home in time to get the kids from school. It was a happy memorable day. I could feel the temp outside warming as we neared Sacramento. I Love the cool beautiful air in the bay. A lot of people do , that is why so many move there I suppose. I'm happy we could make a day of it and be back for his afternoon schedule and the family. California is great!

Time out for Women and Motherhood.~

Last weekend, I went to the Deseret Book event, Time Out For Women.  We went Friday night and heard wonderful speakers and listening to a very talented vocalist, Dallyn Vail Bayles. He has played Raoul as the understudy for "Phantom of the Opera" and has performed and traveled with the  Broadway play"Les Miserables."  I love live music, and to hear such a excellent performer was a treat for me.  We came home and rested and the next Day Bright and early Laurie and I traveled to the Sacramento Convention Center for day Two. The Speaker were funnier and they had a religious Man Band called Jericho Road that entertained us. There were about 2,500 women in attendance.  We participated in putting together meals from donations collected at the event. I was touch to hear that this even collect and made enough meals for 364 families of four.  The Theme of the even was "Seek the Good". We talked of what we as women can do with our influence, twas a great experience. It was the 10th anniversary of this even and I  always love getting the tote that comes with. Who can have enough purses, right? I bought the DVD and can't wait to watch those talks again, although it was much better in person and I'm glad Brian was willing to hold down the fort for one and a half days for the rejuvenating experience that it was.:)

Last thursday was my first Relief Society meeting as the first counselor. It was a great night. It was a TV like show called "Good Morning, Motherhood". We had a great MC who guided the night by asking questions sisters had submitted about mother hood to the panel of 5 mothers in various stages and situations. I enjoyed being a  panel member. We talked of how to do it all, when to teach your children about the birds and bees, routines, and how to teach our children spiritually. There were cute interactive comercial such as name that hymn and a plug for ward choir. We passed out chocolate, cookies, and had homemade ice cream for dessert.  My favorite part was how everyone participated and answered questions. It wasn't just about the panel, but was a great uplifting experience, being together as women and having a great time. We are going to have to think of ways to facilitate next months meeting to be just as great!

Wacky Wednesday

Emmy and I had a lot of fun getting ready for Wacky Wednesday. We dressed like the other and I tried to smile like Emmy in some pictures we took. At the activity for young women's, we watched a clip of freaky Friday the movie at plenty of sugary desserts and played games. We guessed what the mother or daughters would do in embarrassing situations and compared results. Emmy and I know each other pretty well.  We grabbed some tacos after and it was a great time. I love my mini me who has her own style and is such a great girl!

Last Cabin, Twice Utah, and One Birthday

This was a big trip and very anticipated since we have changes coming up with the ownership of the Family Cabin. We have gone there for over...
