Girl Party
Emmy had fun having her girlfriends over. They got the idea it might be fun to dress up as the boys they used to like or ex boyfriends. I took a picture of them and the boys they were dressing up as. They seem to look like them and get a kick out of dressing up! Ironically, they helped Emmy decorate a cake to help Emmy ask Andrew to Junior Prom. So, it wasn't a boy hater club.:) Emmy is now old enough to drive other people(besides her family) around legally. They went to the mall and Jamba juice. I kind of liked having Emmy able to drive them home, too. Emmy's friends were cute and very smiley, helpful, respectful, giggly, and complementary. Just as teenage girls at a party should be in my opinion. I'm glad Emmy was so happy.

Up and at Um
Only a few weeks after my surgery, I have my stitches out, am wearing regular shoes, driving and not using crutches. I got a clean bill of health from my Podiatrist. I feel very blessed to have had an easy surgery and no complications with recovery. It wasn't a cake walk, but I'm so pleased about how quickly I am recovering. The next big change we have is changing respite workers. Luckily the interview went well and we have found someone that works at Spencer's school to watch him. Hopefully her experience with kiddos like Spencer will help the respite time to go smoothly for all. I've been gardening , planting really. I'm hoping we can have these plants for years to come. I keep feeling this spring that you reap what you sow. I don't want to miss out on this cool weather perfect for planting. Celia was home sick from school yesterday and we had great mommy daughter time eating in the backyard and she loved spraying the weeds with round up while she watched me plants. Celia comes up with cute things to entertain herself. She made my name is stickers on pink post it notes around our family room. There was a "My name is God" note on a picture of Jesus. She is so matter of fact and cute. Last night we had great family time listing two positive things about each member of the family. There was some hesitation and some reminders we are being only positive, but it went over well and I was so happy about it.
On Sunday I was worn out, but attended Emmy's vocal performance in youth choir in Antelope. I was so glad I went. The theme was "Come unto Christ". It was powerful to hear the choir. The pieces were different and so sweet performed by great young people. There were narrations, testimonies shared, a talk, and various solo performances. What a great spirit there was there. I was so uplifted. I couldn't pick a favorite song although the group of Hawaiian boys all in white shirts and ties singing praises to their Lord was moving. I'm so glad Emmy could participate. Another great opportunity Ive had lately was reading(listening) to a book with Brian. We read it almost at the same time and were able to talk about it together. I loved that. We need to do that more often. The book was called "Boy's Adrift" by Leonard Sax. I learned some things and became more aware of studies I have interest in by reading this. Our boys who turn into men are so important and with our guidance can do great things.
I'm grateful for the scout program. I am bribing( giving positive reinforcement) Joseph to accomplish more in scouts. I'm encouraging Emmy to finish and get her young women's medallion. Seminary is valuable. Even the faith in God for primary aged children has great goals to help me to teach my children. Parenting is pretty tricky and I'm glad I have a few helps from community, school, and church, because it takes a village.

Healing Up~
I'm excited about an appt. tomorrow. After foot surgery to remove a quilting needle, I am excited to see how I am healing and if I can start to be weight bearing on my right foot again. I'm so happy and overwhelmed at how wonderful to me my friends and family has been. There has been serve in babysitting, driving, food brought in and visits to cheer me up. Jan, Emelina, Alex, Jalayne, Jayne, Laurie, Roxann, Anna, Heather, Raimi, Stephanie, Cyndi, Kristin, Emmy, and Misty have helped or reached out to me in some way this week. I can't forget Brian as the one who has done The Most and the kids have been great, all so loving and helpful! My family has done more than their fair share of chores to help keep up with the house and to cheer me up as I have been laid up. It is very appreciated and I feel Loved.
That darn vertigo I get sometimes has really delayed my ability to even move around on my crutches and attempt to do simple daily tasks. I am grateful for the book on tapes, time to ponder and appreciation I've received as I'm recovering. It is humbling to be served, but it reminds me of my sweet Spencer and how he relies on me(us) to have his needs met and desires fulfilled. I thought I have slowed down a bit as I've grown older, but as I've slowed down even more to recover I can see things that I was moving too fast to see. I'm excited about healing and being back to myself, but am grateful for what I've learned. Celia was in a cute choreographed dance at school called Star Struck. My friend Amber took her to the show and videotaped her for me to see. Celia was front and center for part of the dance really hamming it up. She loves to dance. I'm glad we got a Wii mini to replace our broken one since it is a treat for all to see Celia play Just Dance. It was Amber's idea too to go out to target and use the motorized cart to shop around and get out. It was a humorous time and Emmy and I liked seeing people we know at Target and just being out and about.

New Places and Bikes
We have been having great Spring weather in between some wonderful rain. Joseph loves the bikes we were to lucky to get from Rah Rah and Papa. I was hoping for a great physical activity for Joseph so love and we've found that Joseph likes bike rides. We rode around our neighborhoods a bit and he loved it as long as I wasn't catching up or passing him. He gets a little competitive , I wonder where he get that from?:) I was wearing a duster sweater and noticed my shadow looked like I was wearing a cape. It keeps me young to play with the kids and use our imaginations. Spence has had a great weekend., He usually only tolerates going to the same places we always do for family dinner's out. Brian, Spencer and I went to Lincoln to a new to use Mexican restaurant. Spencer did great. I love it so much when he is quiet and calm out in public. He is such a big sweetheart. As long as he isn't pushed too much that is. I think that, don't force me into things, is just having a teenager attitude.
