Hanging in the Backyard (at the cabin)

My family members are such characters! We have fun.
Pirate Bri. He had me post this as his profile picture on Facebook. lol

Shooting cans with a BB gun isn't near as fun as with a mouthful of whipped cream. It was Spencer's idea lol.
Celia wanted to take a picture of me shooting a gun!

The meadow is the backyard plus about three quarters of a mile straight up! I really wanted to go to the meadow this year. We hadn't gone up to the meadow since we went with my Dad and Brian carried Emelie in a back pack and she was around three years old. It was a challenging hike, but what a great experience to climb at such high elevation and find a beautiful place to picnic. It was great Mommy Daughter time. Emmy commented on how fast we made it down the hill. Yeah, I was slipping and sliding all the way.

Taos

We enjoyed a beautiful ride into town and we parked near the plaza and got out to shop. Joseph loved the fossil store and got a cute dinosaur rock. He was amazed by all the fossils and geodes. We walked around as a family seeing all the shops and flowers and great sights to see like art and musicians. Then it was bathroom time. Spencer refused to put his britches back on so Bri ran to the car to get different shorts for Spence. I took advantage of the time waiting by taking pictures of the kids.:) It was fun still and we ended up going around town more. The resturant Brian and I went to for our honeymoon was out of business, well it has been 16 years. And the Kit Carson Museum was closed. We were greeted by a native though who made us cute star wands made out of taos red willow tree.:) He was a hoot. I also got a beautiful riestra at the little riestra shop in town. I love it.

Wahcha, these kids love to sword fight.

I love this picture of Daddy bear and Celia. We went to this gorge when Emmy and Spencer were very small too, we'll have to compare pictures.:)
It was really windy and the bridge shook each time a car drove by. Celia held on tight!

Rejuvenation through Relaxation

Colorado is so peaceful and beautiful. It is so quiet at night and the air is fresh and clear. It is relaxing to our family to be on our own and not near crowds too. We are very happy here and soak in all the relaxation we can for as long as we are visiting.:)

The kids paired up to go to the swings after a picnic lunch, it was so cute a had to take a picture of the girls and the boys~

We enjoy the down time at the cabin too. We went out on the porch when it was raining and watched. We also enjoyed many a night playing a pirate card game. I won a lot of the hands and quite liked that, although by the end of the week we all had won some.:)

24th of July Celebrating.~

We like celebrating 24th of July in Colorado even though it seems to be a pioneer day mostly celebrated in Utah. I am always touched by the sweet floats the wards in Manasa and Sanford Colorado make for their parade. The kids love the candy they throw and the otter pops. Emmy even caught a freesbee and a waterbottle. Spencer loved it this year he kept shouting woohoo, squeeling and cracking up the whole time.

I love the themes of the floats. Remember your royal nature, and set your goals high, inspiring!:)

After the Parade we went to Alamosa and had some wonderful chicken and mashed potatoes at the park by the Rio Grande. We loved the mashed potatoes and gravy there other years, but when we realized with had no spoons, we used the bread we had and dipped it, It was a big hit!

Pretty Flowers~
We hadn't taken the whole family to this waterfall of the Alamosa River route, but it was great to be in our own private area, so peaceful.

This was such a beautiful waterfall. Brian had climbed closer to the fall to take pictures and I followed him up there. The sound of rushing water was exhilarating. I love waterfalls anyway, but I was especially happy after coming down from seeing this one. I hopped rocks and felt like I had the best balance ever. I was even saying watch this as I hopped the rocks. Just then, Joseph asked me to help him across the river and I had forgtten that my feet were all wet and the rocks were very slippery. Before Brian could warn me again he saw, he says in slow motion, me fall into the water and my hair flip back in a whiplash motion. I was stunned and my neck hurt. I got out and gained my composure. Meanwhile, Brian was telling me about my sunglasses falling and I didnt care at the momment, but went searching in vain for them later in the pool. The ride home was cold to say the least, but seeing the waterfall was worth it and I learned never help someone across slippery rocks with wet shoes!

We saw this little guy sitting on near the road to our cabin. He fit right into the scenery, you could hardly see him. We loved our long day full of adventure and happy memories.

Conejos River

After spending the night at Lance and Dawn house, we headed towards the cabin. We took a different route down through Moab and Montecello , Utah. We were able to see the temple there. We rode through Durango and Padgosa Springs Colorado. Pagosa was beautiful to me and I want to visit there another time.:) We came into the cabin by way of Chama. It was very green and lush and of course we saw deer. We also saw a lot of cows trying to cross the road, the kids that that was pretty interesting. I wonder if they will think of cows differently as food hehe. They sure liked the calfs the best. Celia called the cabin a new second house, we do feel like home there it was cute. She named it the cabin house and our normal house became the California house. The first morning there Joseph wanted to go down to the river and I was reallly wanting to go for a walk so we walked down together. Spencer and Brian ended up joining us there. I love water and the conjeos is sucha beautiful river.:)
Joseph was pretty impressed with the saddles and this leather canteen. He was trying on hats in the lodge and asking how muuch they all cost, hordes and saddles, the whole deal. It was cute.
Joseph tied some sticks together with a reed and made a raft. He was so happy about it, it went better then skipping rocks did.:)

I loved to see the boys at the river. Its nice how its so near the cabin we can walk down there anytime.

Last Cabin, Twice Utah, and One Birthday

This was a big trip and very anticipated since we have changes coming up with the ownership of the Family Cabin. We have gone there for over...
