Portland and Multnomah
I did it, I went and saw Multnomah Falls! Ever since I was in college, I thought how beautiful those falls were and how I wanted to see them. Emmy must have remembered this desire of mine because she suggested we go and see it for my birthday this year. It was such a great time! Brian was the man of the hour for holding down the fort an supporting us on our adventure. We booked a room at La Quinta Inn. It was great to say the least. The beds were pretty comfy and they had a great continental breakfast and a pool with a hot tub. It seemed a bit more snazzy than the one we would stay in when we'd visit Utah. The Virgin America Airline was pretty impressive too. We enjoyed the stewardess video instructions that included a rap and big dance show. The seats on the plane were leather and cushy too.
I found a full city and Waterfall tour and it was a fun adventure around town all day. We were pleased when the city tour was of beauty green areas of Portland. We saw a castle, a gorgeous rose garden and an Amazing Chinese(true to life) garden. The people were different and the city was definitely interesting and nothing about it was dull and boring. I truly felt we were out seeing the world and getting different perspectives. We got stopped on the freeway due to traffic and were reared, but all was fine. We did see a few people walking around on the freeway during the stopped traffic. There is so much out there to see and experience. We took the Max Line to the airport and I feel like we explored public transit. I did enjoy the travel very much and the waterfalls were all that I hoped for. Emmy was a great traveling partner and we got along great! What a wonderful pre-birthday experience.

Such a beautiful place
I don't mind the fog on a beautiful coastal city such as Mendocino. The flowers and gardens and air are so sweet to look at and smell. The ocean is relaxing and the sites so fantastic. It is the perfect place for me. Jacket weather, beauty all around, and great nature displayed.
My Dad had a big birthday coming up so he wanted to celebrate and my Mom thought of the perfect place. I was happy to go again and to bring Celia. She and Kieran(who is visiting from Hawaii for a month) got along very well. They went to the swings, checked on the chickens, and played games together. The town part reminded me of Laguna a little bit, but the victorian feel was all its own. We stayed in a tiny two room Victorian cottage. It was so quaint.
The kitchenette looked like Celia sized, but we made do. We we out to eat at the flow restaurant the first night. It was healthy fresh, organic food. So tasty. There seemed to be a theme of this around town. Words can't describe all the beautiful flowers and gardens. We enjoyed a walk downhill through all sorts of greenery to a somewhat private beach near the Allegria where we stayed. We loved looking through the cave nearby, gathering beautiful seashells and skipping rocks. The fog dispersed and the sky looks a purple hue with blue blue water. There were some little challenges on or trip, but overall it was just such a lovely experience. I got a dream come true twice with visiting a lighthouse and getting a beautiful amethyst ring at a cute shop in town. We walked and walked and I loved the air and how it didn't get too hot. We saw deer and enjoyed a great sunset on the cliffs of the Mendocino headlands. What a great place to appreciate beauty and to be grateful for our everyday lives and conveniences as well. I feel like I learned a lot about myself and family. What a great experience, I'm so grateful for the opportunity to go.
